I will sing, sing a new song
Well, I never expected so many people would be interested in writing fic for me the whole informal lyrics challenge thing, but as of right now at 10:10am on Wednesday morning, everyone who commented has been given two lines from a song to work with.
If you're interested (you don't have to be on my flist, my f-of list or any other list), just drop a comment on the original entry, and I'll fix you up.
These are the rules guidelines:
1. The story is in some way related to the lyrics (whether mood, theme, content or actually having the lyrics worked into the story as narrative or dialogue (but not in that songficcy way and preferably no karaoke involved *snerk*)
2. The story is at least 100 words long. I said 100-700 words, 'cause that's fairly easy and pressure-free, but don't feel constrained if you need to go beyond 700 words.
3. Post a link in the comments of the original post (I've added it to my memories under lyrics challenge) or this post.
4. Any fandom, any pairing (or no pairing), any rating, any genre.
5. No deadline. Whenever you do it, you do it. If you want another when you're done, well, I'm not gonna run out of lyrics any time soon. *snerk*
6. If you really, really hate the two lines I gave you, I'll give you something else.
7. Play ball. Let's be careful out there. Have fun.

And the meme that ate LiveJournal:
My journal is called _____ because _____.
My subtitle is _____ because _____.
My friends page is called _____ because _____.
My username is ____ because _____.
My journal is called "frail and bedazzled" because that’s how fandom makes me feel. "Frail and bedazzled from all the glare" as the line from the song goes. Yes, it’s a line from a Smashing Pumpkins song called, hey, look at that, "Frail and Bedazzled" (off Pisces Iscariot). Also, I just like the combination of words.
My subtitle is “All Remus, All the Time” because he’s the main focus of my current fannish obsession and I talk about him a lot.
My friends page is called "Minions and Lackeys" because you are all my minions and lackeys, even if you don’t know it yet, and when I rule the world... Ahem. Actually, it’s because my LJ name (not my username) is usually “victoria p., Queen of the Xanderistas” and queens have minions and lackeys. I was going to change it to “pretty maids all in a row” but I think the men on there would get annoyed.
The link is "Required Reading" because that's how I view my flist - all the news that's fit.
The name I'm using now - "relentlessly American diction" - came from a comment on a message board somewhere (Werewolf Registry, I think), that referred to one of my stories as good, in spite of the "relentlessly American diction," and that tickled me.
My username is "musesfool" because that was the name of my site when I first put it up (and how I still think of it), and it comes from the quote, “Fool, said my muse to me, look in thy heart and write” from Sir Philip Sydney, a quote which I’ve inscribed on almost every notebook I’ve ever written stories in, going back years and years, since I first heard it when I was a teenager.
Do you all feel enlightened now? *g*
And lastly - Faye Dunaway! Not that I've ever actually sat through "Bonnie and Clyde," but she just looks so freaking cool and, yes, iconic, in this pic.
